Ackermann Takes Tour Of Guangxi Stage Two Victory

Pascal Ackermann of Bora Hansgrohe has taken the win on the second stage of the Tour Of Guangxi.Stage two was a 145.2km stage from Beihai to Qinzhou with Dylan Groenewegen of LottoNL-Jumbo in the lead and it was a stage which saw Julien Derval and Natneal Berhane break early before being brought back after six kilometres.British rider Alex Dowsett got himself into a new break along with Remi Cavagna of Quick Step, Yousif Mirze of UAE, Andriy Grivko of Astana and Feng Chung Kai of Bahrain-Merida In the rain, Cavagna beat Dowsett to the sprint after 59kms as their lead steadied at 1.30. Mirza dropped out of the peloton who could not prevent Cavagna from taking the second sprint ahead of Grivko and Dowsett.The final Asian rider In the break dropped back as did Grivko going into the final twenty kilometres with a slender lead.Dowsett took the third sprint before Cavagna, the most aggressive rider of the day pushed on, only to be caught with four kilometres remaining.Into Qinzhou and it was a sprint which was won by Pascal Ackermann in 3.18.58 ahead of Fabio Jakobsen and Dylan Groenewegen who keeps the leader's jersey by four seconds. .read full article
