Lotto Soudal’s Tim
Wellens has won the third stage of the Vuelta Andalucia.
The Ruta de Sol,
now in its 65th edition, had Lotto Soudal’s Tim Wellens in the
yellow jersey for a 16.3kms time trial from Mancha Real to La Guardia (Jaen).
British rider Simon
Yates of Mitchelton-Scott, set an early time to beat of 22.47 with his brother
Adam quicker in 22.39 on a day where the timings were all over the place.
Tim Wellens was
last out of the gatehouse as Steven Kruijswijk took over the lead with a time of 22.34, which was the same time for Ion
Izagurre of Astana, who went into the virtual lead of the race.
Jakob Fuglsang took
over the lead with a time of 22.27 but Tim Wellens finished in 22.25 to take
